International cooperation with foreign partner universities is one of the main goals of PEU which follows international trends in its study program by emphasizing its international orientation. Thus, from the very beginning, not only a considerable number of foreign teachers were included in the staff of BUL, but also its students are given the opportunity to take part in study programs in partner Universities abroad. PEU welcomes, therefore, students from universities outside the Slovak Republic on the basis of an exchange scheme.

Beginning with the academic year of 2006/2007, PEU has been participating in several academic programs of the European Union, following its award of the European University Charter (EUC) by the European Commission in December 2005.

In 2005 the Law Faculty of PEU has become a member of the ERASMUS/ELPIS teacher´s and student´s mobility network within the European Union. It is the only institution representing the Slovak Republic in that network which comprises 35 Universities all across Europe, including non-EU Member States such as Norway and Switzerland.
