Characteristics

Faculty of Economy and Business (further only as "Faculty") was established in July 2005 and is one of the four Faculties at the private Pan European University (PEU). Faculty operates pursuant to provisions of Acts of the Slovak Republic and offers education in accredited study programs.


Faculty objective

The Faculty objective is to offer a high-quality, full-scale, thorough and adequately comprehensive higher education and to enhance academic work and research in all areas in which mutual cooperation can strengthen the position of graduates on the labour market and secure the required adaptability in altering conditions.


In order to achieve this objective the Faculty explores possibilities that result from contacts to important experts in universities, academic institutions and to practitioners in Slovakia as well as from international cooperation with foremost lecturers from the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, the Russian Federation, etc.


Specialization of studies

The faculty concentrates on two specializations of economics that are incorporated into the system of specializations by the Ministry for Education of the Slovak Republic. The first specialization is Economy and Business Management and the second is International Business.


Studies are based on practically proven national and international knowledge and experience; they stimulate the development of creativity, complexity of student's economic thinking and acquisition of modern work procedures and methods.


Levels of studies

Studies at the Faculty are organized in three levels:

  • Bachelor level, lasts 3 years in standard case and graduates receive the title Bc. - Bachelor,
  • Engineer level (Master level) is a follow-up level; lasts 2 years in standard case, graduates receive the title Dipl. Ing. - Diploma Engineer (Master of Science in Economics),
  • Postgraduate level that lasts 3 years in standard case and graduates from this level receive the title PhD. - Doctor philosophiae

Studies are organized in all three levels in full-time as well as in part-time form. Faculty successively creates conditions for the introduction of distance learning form where students will be able to replace the direct contact with lecturers by communication via modern communication means and information networks.
